LICADD’s Youth Advisory Board (YAB) members are among some of LICADD’s most active volunteers and regularly participate in agency special events, program development and outreach activities.
LICADD is committed to ensuring that young people have a meaningful voice and the YAB brings together young people of diverse backgrounds from across Long Island to share their experiences, opinions and insights with the agency’s Board of Directors, management team and staff. Guided by their unique experiences and peer relationships, members of the YAB not only provide feedback on LICADD’s programs and strategies, but also generate new ideas on how to make drug-free and alcohol-free living the norm, rather than the exception.
Membership on the YAB is open to young people ages 15-21 and we are currently looking for individuals with a strong desire to make a difference in their communities! YAB meets weekly at LICADD’s Nassau County office located at 114 Old Country Road, Suite 114 in Mineola, NY.
It’s not too late to join the YAB… The YAB has exciting plans, but they can’t do it alone- they need you!
