Mary Alice O’Connor, LICADD’S Development and Communications Associate, graduated from Providence College with a Bachelor’s degree in Public and Community Service Studies. After graduation, Mary Alice moved to Iowa to serve as an AmeriCorps NCCC Team Leader, and upon completing her term, continued her commitment to serving in disaster-affected communities by accepting a role as an AmeriCorps VISTA member. Throughout that time, Mary Alice had an opportunity to travel throughout the Midwestern United States and partner with community organizations in order to provide critical assistance to flood-affected individuals and families. Mary Alice enjoyed the opportunity to contribute her fundraising and event planning skills to those organizations, while simultaneously learning new skills such as tiling and drywall installation. Mary Alice recently relocated back to Long Island, and is excited to be a part of the LICADD team.
