Caitlin Erickson, LMSW - Bio
Caitlin Erickson, LICADD’s Student Assistance Program Coordinator, is a recent graduate of Stony Brook University with her Masters in Social Work. She graduated in 2008 from the George Washington University with a BA in International Affairs. During her time at GWU she first started working with at-risk youth in the inner city of DC with Americorps, where she was both a tutor and health educator. It was this time with Americorps that inspired her to pursue a master’s degree in Social Work.
Prior to her position as LICADD’s Student Assistance Program Coordinator, Caitlin interned and worked at the Smithtown Youth Bureau. There she implemented the evidence-based program, Too Good for Drugs in Smithtown High School, ran a life skills group at Phoenix House in Hauppauge, and taught leadership skills as a Daisy Troop leader. Caitlin has also participated on the Smithtown Youth Board, where she was recently invited to be an expert panelist in the annual Life After High School Night. She is passionate about prevention education and is excited to be a part of LICADD’s team.
