Leadership Council
Mission:
Comprised entirely of volunteers representing a diverse cross-section of Long Islanders concerned about substance use, the Leadership Council supports LICADD’s board of directors and executive director in advancing the agency’s programs, services and overall mission. Leadership Council members help strengthen LICADD’s existing programs, make suggestions about critical areas of need that should be addressed through future programs, projects or activities, and serve as an important link to community stakeholders interested in our work.
Membership:
Leadership Council members include, but are not limited to the following: those touched by addiction; treatment providers; prevention specialists; small business owners and corporate executives; nonprofit professionals; law enforcement personnel; clergy and those representing faith-based organizations; educators; youth-serving professionals, members of academia; and community/civic leaders.
Prospective Leadership Council members must submit a letter of interest to the executive director or board chair and current curriculum vitae for consideration and approval at regularly scheduled board meetings. Recruitment efforts and appointments to the Leadership Council reflect the LICADD board of directors’ commitment to diversity.
