Kick-Off the Holiday Season & Give the Gift that Could Save a Life!

Posted on November 18, 2011 under Latest LICADD News

Holiday shopping is in full swing and with charitable dollars at a premium, the Long Island Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, Inc. (LICADD) is pleased to be participating once again in the Champions for Charity holiday shopping benefit taking place from Thursday, December 1 through Saturday December 3, 2011 in the stores of the Americana Plaza in Manhasset, and Wheatley Shopping Centers in Greenvale. Twenty-five (25%) of all registered shoppers’ pre-tax purchases will be donated to LICADD’s alcohol and drug prevention programs for children and young adults.

LICADD Vice Chair, Caryn Hirshleifer of Hirshleifers, located in the Americana Manhasset said she is “proud to sponsor LICADD, an organization that is aggressively working to support parents and children struggling with addiction. Participation in this shopping benefit is a fabulous opportunity to honor your loved ones by donating to a charity dedicated to helping at-risk families.”

Hirshleifers will help LICADD kick-off the shopping event with a holiday reception at their store on Thursday, December 1st from 6-8 PM. Representatives will be available to sign shoppers up for the complimentary Champion Card at the reception.  LICADD’s Executive Director Dr. Jeffrey L. Reynolds stated, “What better way to celebrate the meaning of the season, than helping to save the lives of young adults across the region.” For more information, visit www.championsforcharity.org,
