Thanks Governor! Cuomo Signs 911 Good Samaritan Bill!

LICADD Executive Director Dr. Jeffrey Reynolds’ statement on approval of the bill:

“As Long Island struggles with a historic opiate crisis, this measure will help prevent the huge number of overdoses that are occurring in this region and across the state. We thank Governor Cuomo for signing this important bill and we also thank Assembly and Senate leadership for taking swift action to save lives. We thank particularly, Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos and Health Committee Chair Kemp Hannon for responding to the pleas of parents who have lost children to drug overdoses. We also, of course, thank Assembly Health Committee Chair Richard Gottfried. Passage of this bill will help ensure that young people who struggle with addiction now or in the future have a better shot of staying alive long enough to ever make it through our doors.”
