The Long Island Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, Inc (LICADD) announced that it will hold its fast-track one-day Anger Management workshop on Saturday, May 8, 2010 in Ronkonkoma. “The pressures most people are experiencing these days have boosted the fear, anxiety and depression that frequently manifests itself in anger directed at others,” said LICADD Executive Director Jeffrey Reynolds. “LICADD’s anger management program has helped dozens of Long Islanders improve their relationships at work, home, school and in the community.”

The one-day anger management workshop includes 8 hours of instruction, interaction and exploration. To maximize program effectiveness and to allow for optimal participation, attendance is limited to twelve participants. Classroom exercises, role playing, and instructional materials are given to help and guide participants to learn skills such as stress management, communication training, anger management, empathy, conflict resolution and impulse control. The class is accepted by all courts, probation departments and Child Protective Services. After completion of the class, participants will receive an official certificate of completion.

The fee for this anger management workshop is based on a sliding scale, dependent on the participant’s income and financial circumstances. Slots are still available; please call 516-747-2606 to register.
