When is Suffolk County's Heroin Summit?

The Long Island Press today ran a story detailing community calls for a countywide heroin summit in Suffolk. Nassau stepped-up early and the Town of Brookhaven held their own summit last week. Still, we need leadership from the top in Suffolk and ensuring a clear dialogue and coordination of services between law enforcement, school officials, treatment agencies, youth organizations, clergy and parents is critical. Too many of Long Island’s young people are falling through the cracks and suffering from heavy addiction, which in many cases, turns out to be fatal. Time is of the essense. The story is linked here.
