Long Island Press Details Heroin Use and Sales Near NUMC

The Long Island Press continued its award-winning coverage of heroin use among young people in our area this week with an eye-opening look at heroin use and sales outside the Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow. LICADD’s Executive Director, Dr. Jeffrey Reynolds, was interviewed for the article and spoke about the potential for relapse among those leaving treatment at NUMC, only to be immediately approached by drug dealers.

NCPD has made several drug-related arrests in the area and Nassau County Executive Tom Suozzi has pledged to urge NUMC to address the activity happening outside one of Long Island’s most active detox facilities. The full Long Island Press story written by Mike Martino is here.
